Boy’s Tennis

Calvert officially added Tennis to the sports curriculum in 1969, and in the spring of 1973, recorded the first SBC championship in league tennis under Coach Jack “Sparky” Anderson.  Anderson took a total of 4 SBC titles in five seasons.  Sparky continued in that post until his sudden death in 1987.  Dave Kimmet took over in 1987, and in 1990 his team recorded the school’s first ever undefeated boys tennis season with a mark of 17-0.  This still stands as the most wins in school history.  Kimmet’s squad duplicated the mark in 1993 with another undefeated season (14-0).  Just two seasons later, the Senecas captured the NWOCSA in 1995, and again in 2003.  He continues in this highly successful program.
