Dr. Marinis Monthly Memo- August 2019

Updated: Aug 30, 2019

I would like to begin this informative memo with a thank you to the many people and businesses in the Tiffin and area community who continually support Calvert Catholic Schools. We are very blessed by the dedication you have shown in assisting us in providing an alternative school choice to everyone.

As Head of School for CCS, I have been working closely with the administrative staff to enhance and enrich the spiritual and academic education for our students this year, built upon our pillars of spiritual, academic, physical, and social development. In doing so, I am proud to inform you of the following implementations for the 2019-2020 school year.

A new Kindergarten through12th grade “Service Encompassing All” (SEA) service program has been designed to involve spiritual development and growth through immersion experiences for the students.

Global Competencies will be infused into the elementary curriculum, including language lessons and culture studies from other countries at the elementary level.

STEAM curriculum will surpass STEM by including the Arts for elementary children. The Creator Space Lab will provide lessons built on critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication skills to better prepare the students for future success.

I am inviting anyone interested to take advantage of “Coffee with the Principals” to find out more about CCS, our policies, schedules, tuition and more. The dates and times will be posted on the website or call the school to schedule an individual time visit.

Thanks to the generosity and support of several Foundations, businesses, individuals and graduates, we have been busy improving the facilities. Two new boilers were put in the Jr./High school, the final installation of windows is complete, and an entry ramp will be installed at the front steps of the school for those who need easy and safe access to the activities in the gym and throughout the school. Students will have their own space for taking their online college classes, and the seniors will have a study lounge.

The many exciting changes being implemented to enrich the Calvert Catholic Schools experience ahead are a welcome addition for coordinating a faith-infused learning environment. Calvert students are being recognized for their high achievements on a state and national level! We are proud of the tradition of education and service that Calvert brings to the community.
