Dr. Marinis Monthly Memo - March 2023

Greetings Community,

The educational community of Seneca County continues to be blessed as collaboration and support for one another grows. From the local Universities' support for learning opportunities in college courses that prepare students for life after high school, to educational camps that provide diverse career exposure, and sharing physical plant space, we are blessed. Recently the Columbian and Calvert Cheer teams competed at State. While my memo is not usually highlighting athletic achievements, it was impactful to experience the support each of the teams had for one another, from gift baskets to watching each other practice and compete. We are a blessed community that can compete with great passion and demonstrates unwavering support.

Calvert is beginning to prepare for the 23-24 academic year enrollment. Our enrollment begins with preschool, age 3 through grade 12. Our preschool program offers additional child care to support our families as we view the educational experience as a partnership with parents and families. I would encourage you to visit us to learn more about the impactful learning that begins as early as preschool at Calvert. We are holding a Preschool and Kindergarten Open House on March 21st from 6:00-7:30 at the elementary campus. Please get in touch with Rachel Griffith at rgriffith@calvertcatholic.org for more information. To register for kindergarten screening on April 13th and 14th please contact Rachel as well, or you can utilize the link on the CCS website.

Calvert will continue to enhance our Theology Department through the generous support of time from both local pastors, Fathers Anthony and Matt. They will team teach freshmen religion next year and physically be at the high school campus on a daily basis. This is a true blessing for Calvert Catholic Schools and we are thankful for both pastors’ continued support and the transformation of our Theology Department.

I understand there is a regular theme of “thank you” in these memos. Calvert is humbled by the community's support of time, talent, and treasure. As yet another example of this, our baseball and softball teams are preparing for the upcoming spring season. There are countless students, parents, and community members that have gifted us with their time, talent, and treasure to ensure our fields are ready. There is a popular saying it takes a village and we are blessed to have a village of support surrounding the Calvert community.

God Bless and Go Blue. Thank you!
