From the Desk of Dr. Jeremy Marinis
One of the many joys of leading Calvert Catholic Schools with success is being in the first row of watching each student's individual growth during their 12 years of education at Calvert Catholic Schools. I am passionate and driven for our educators to mentor and impact our students to their highest potential, leading up to the moment when they accept a diploma.
Many of our students’ journeys at our school start in our Preschool and Kindergarten programs, which are designed to nurture young minds, foster a love of learning, and instill the values of faith, service, and leadership that define a Calvert education.
I am proud to have teachers who do more than instruct—they fully support each child's development in a caring and faith-filled environment. From their first steps into the classroom, our youngest students are surrounded by educators who recognize their potential and guide them with patience and expertise to prepare them day in and day out.
Our Preschool and Kindergarten programs are structured to meet children where they are developmentally while encouraging their growth in all areas—academically, socially, spiritually, and physically. Our faith-based curriculum integrates hands-on learning, structured play, and character formation while ensuring students build strong academic and personal foundations rooted in Catholic values. Let me give you a deeper dive into our Preschool & Kindergarten programs.
Young 3's Class: A Gentle Introduction to School (2 Days a Week)
Our Young 3's class provides a loving and structured environment where children take their first steps in a classroom setting. Through play, social interaction, and faith-based activities, students learn routines, develop independence, and engage in early lessons on kindness, sharing, and God's love.
3-Year-Old Program: Play-Based Learning with Purpose (3 Days a Week)
At three years old, children thrive in an environment that balances playful exploration with gentle structure. Our program encourages curiosity, independence, and cooperation while introducing simple prayers and Bible-based activities that instill core Christian values.
4-Year-Old Full-Day or Half-Day Program: Kindergarten Readiness Begins Here
In our 4-year-old program, students take their next step toward Kindergarten readiness. We are thrilled to announce an additional full-day option (Monday-Thursday) in addition to our already established morning-only class (Monday-Friday). A faith-centered approach strengthens their understanding of God's love and begins applying it in their interactions with peers and teachers.
Kindergarten: Building Bright Futures
Choosing Calvert Elementary for Kindergarten means giving your child an unparalleled start to their academic journey. Our Kindergarten students consistently exceed state testing expectations, demonstrating the strength of our curriculum and teaching approach. Beyond academics, we prioritize faith, character development, and a love for lifelong learning. With small class sizes and personalized attention, our students gain the confidence and skills to excel in school and beyond.
I am proud to acknowledge the strength of our primary education classes, which are stepping stones for consistent growth in our school. While building a strong education for our students is a top priority, there's a more significant piece to the mission of excellence we strive to uphold. Each of our students is here to excel and be future leaders grounded in faith, integrity, and service.
