My Summer Challenge for You.
As we approach the end of the school year and the beginning of summer, I invite each of you to participate in my CCS Summer Challenge.
The CCS Summer Challenge is an opportunity for every member of our school community—students, families, and faculty—to grow in purpose, service, and leadership during the months ahead. Growth does not happen by accident; it happens through intentional action, and summer provides a unique opportunity to deepen our commitment to faith, character, and excellence.
Looking back on this remarkable school year, I am filled with immense pride at what our Calvert community has accomplished together. Our students have exemplified what it means to be formed in faith and educated for excellence in academic achievements, athletic triumphs, music and theatre performances, service projects, and spiritual growth. And now, as we prepare to send our seniors forth into the world beyond our campus, I am confident that the foundation they've built here will serve them well in college, careers, and life. While it's bittersweet to say goodbye to these young men and women who have contributed so much to our school, we celebrate their readiness to carry the values of Calvert Catholic Schools into new chapters of their lives.
I challenge our students to:
Attend Mass regularly and pray daily, keeping Christ at the center of your summer journey.
Find meaningful work through a part-time job or internship.
Volunteer in our community, offering your time and talents to help those in need.
Participate in activities to build discipline and teamwork.
Spend intentional time with family, nurturing the relationships that shape who we are.
Demonstrate leadership through small, everyday actions—lead not because you must but because you are called to.
I challenge our faculty and staff to:
Reflect on new ideas and goals that can enhance classroom experiences.
Reset and innovate, preparing to offer our students the very best in Catholic education for the year ahead.
Finally, I challenge all of us to approach this summer with the mindset of growth, not for accolades or recognition, but for the greater glory of God and the betterment of ourselves and our community.
Let us use this time wisely, so that when we return, we come back stronger in spirit, sharper in mind, and more united in mission.
May God bless each of you with a safe and transformative summer.
God Bless & Go Blue!
