One Family Committed to Christ: Spiritually, Academically, Physically, and Socially

Dear Calvert Family,

This past Homecoming week was nothing short of amazing—a true reflection of our mission to support the formation of students and their families, in accordance with the Catholic intellectual tradition, to become virtuous citizens and members of Heaven. Each of our pillars was lived out in powerful and meaningful ways.

We began the week with Spike Night, a volleyball event organized by two of our seniors. Their leadership and generosity helped raise over $11,000 for FACT (Financial Aid Against Cancer Treatment). Their commitment did not stop there, as they will be volunteering at hospitals to support cancer patients. Seeing the entire side of Heidelberg's gym painted Calvert’s royal blue and white was a testament to the true strength of our community and our commitment to one another.

The celebrations continued with our annual bonfire, as we rallied together in support of our football team, followed by the Senior Girls Assembly and, later, the crowning of our Homecoming King, Luke Waire, and Queen, Kara Somodi. At the Homecoming football game, we welcomed back countless alumni who joined in marching and cheering on the Senecas, reminding us that the Calvert spirit extends far beyond graduation.

On Saturday, our students gathered for the Homecoming Dance, celebrating school spirit and camaraderie. The weekend concluded on Sunday morning with a special Mass in the Calvert High School Gym, where alumni and our current football team filled the space in honor of Mr. Howard Stultz, who was inducted into the Calvert Hall of Fame. It was my privilege to present this award, a moment that reaffirmed my commitment to the mission of Catholic education.

This week reminded us once again that Calvert Catholic Schools are making a difference in the lives of our students, our alumni, and our community. I am so proud of the mission we share.

What makes moments like these so impactful is the way they unite us as one family. Whether you are a current student walking the halls of Calvert, an alumnus returning to cheer on the Senecas, or a parent and supporter in the stands, we are all part of the same legacy. Together, we are proof that the Calvert spirit knows no boundaries of age or season—once a part of this family, always a part of this family.

Thank you, Calvert Community, for your incredible support during Homecoming. I invite you to continue standing with us as we live out our mission: One Family Committed to Christ.

God Bless & Go Blue!
